Yes it can. Usually cough is caused by something common like smoking or flu. If a person has had cough over 3 weeks and is coughing up slime or bloodstained sputum he can have TB.
TB is more common, if
- you come from a country where TB is common like Sub-Saharan Africa, Central-Asia or other parts of Asia
- you come from war zone
- you have had TB earlier
- somebody in your family or close friends has had TB
- you have on your travel to Finland spent a long time in overcrowded conditions with other refugees, like in containers, camps etc.
If you think that you could have TB, go to check up. Don’t be afraid of it.
It does not matter if the examinations would show that you have a common cold. It can also sometimes need treatment.
